The Michigan Lottery conducted its fifth annual holiday-time Millionaire Raffle drawing today, the state's 17th raffle drawing overall since 2007.

The complete list of winning numbers for the latest raffle draw can be found on Lottery Post's Michigan Lottery Results page.

The $20 raffle tickets went on sale Nov. 8, 2010, and a total of 600,000 were available for the drawing. Unlike most previous Michigan raffle drawings, the game was not sold out: more than 90,000 tickets were unsold prior to the draw.

In the drawing held earlier today, 6,018 raffle tickets were randomly selected to win any of four different prize amounts. The top prize was a $1 million annuity, paying out equal installments over 20 years.

Other prizes include 12 prizes of $100,000, 2000 prizes of $500, and 4000 prizes of $100. The lottery lists the overall odds of winning a prize at 1 in 100, although the actual odds are somewhat better than that because of the unsold ticket inventory.

In addition to the main drawing today, there were seven Early Bird bonus drawings held, one per week starting Nov. 17, 2010, each awarding one prize of $25,000 to a ticket purchased before the bonus draw date.

$100 and $500 prizes may be claimed at any Michigan Lottery retailer, office, or licensed claim center.

$1,000,000 and $100,000 prize winners must call the Lottery's Public Relations Division at (517) 373-1237 to schedule an appointment to claim their prize.

$25,000 Early Bird bonus drawing prizes can be claimed at any Michigan Lottery regional office.

All prizes must be claimed within one year of the draw date.

I think raffles are the way to go and I wish states would do more of these. Colorado recently had it's first and I would love to see more, perhaps once or twice a month if possible.

Many more people can win a decent amount of money. Even if you miss the grand prize, a well put together raffle can bless a lot of people with some decent prizes and great odds.

The best thing to do if you $100,000 is to move!

Wow, I hadn't known that the top prize was a $1 million annuity, paying out equal installments over 20 years.  I presumed that it was lump-sum cash! It would be better if the Michigan lottery would decrease the annual pay-outs to maximum of 12 years for a $1MM raffle!

Congratulations lottery raffle winners! Embarassed

The more these millionaire raffle drawings become popular, and if all states consider the drawings to be economically feasible, eventually, every state will consider the prospects. I guess, it is just a matter of time.
