South Dakota

South Dakota Lottery officials are adding Mega Millions to the state's lineup of lotto games, beginning May 16.

The first Mega Millions drawing in which South Dakota will participate is Tuesday, May 18.

The South Dakota Lottery Commission in late March unanimously approved adding the game. The legislative Rules Review Committee Tuesday approved the administrative rules.

Three multi-state lottery games currently are available in South Dakota: Powerball, Hot Lotto, and Wildcard 2.  Dakota Cash, an in-state game played only in South Dakota, also is available.

Mega Millions is the first new game offered in South Dakota since April 2002, when Hot Lotto was introduced.

YAY for South Dakota!

We apparently have no members from South Dakota willing to say YAY for their state so it came to pass that the burden seemed to fall on me.

I was going to say: GO FARGO! YAY!

Then I looked in the Road Atlas and found out Fargo was in North Dakota. That would have made me look real stupid.

So: GO WATERTOWN! YAY!

C'mon everybody, let's hear it for South Dakota! YAY!
