One million Florida Lottery tickets had a shot at winning $1 million, and nine of those are officially chosen as the big winners.

Lottery players anxiously waiting to see if they are now among the wealthy can check their tickets at Lottery Post's Florida Lottery Results page (www.lotterypost.com/results/fl).

With only 1 million tickets available for the raffle, Florida lottery ticket buyers had a better chance of winning a million dollars than with any other game offered in the state. The odds of winning $1,000,000 was 1 in 111,111.

In addition to the top prize, there are also 10 prizes of $50,000, 15 prizes of $5,000, and 2,000 prizes of $250.

Holiday Millionaire Raffle tickets cost $20 each. Sales started Friday, November 13, 2009 and all 1 million tickets were sold prior to the drawing.

The game generated more than $7.9 million to the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund.

What a way to go, winners...and, to think, this is a sweet gift for the new year.

I tried, but it wasn't meant to be.

I think we've seen the last of this raffle in Florida.

I think we'll see it again next year.  As the news story says, all 1 million tickets sold out before the drawing (easily).

The website had 30,000 tix remaining at midnight on Wed, which was the cutoff.
