BALTIMORE, Md. — William Morris, Jr. walked into the Fruitland Exxon one July morning with just $10 in his pocket. He walked out with a $50,000 winning scratch-off. "I hesitated to buy the ticket. It was the funniest feeling going in with all I had."

The 54-year-old from Salisbury said he plays scratch-offs every chance he gets. He came to Lottery Headquarters Monday afternoon, still shaking. "I am still jittery," he said. "I've worked for many years and have never seen a check like that!"

William believes he is on a Hot Streak. Despite daily struggles with his health and his recent diagnosis with cancer, he believes he is an extremely lucky man. "I woke up this morning with a good feeling for no reason," William said. "I think every day is very special. I don't have bad days any more."

William plans to share his winnings with family and friends. "My goal in life is to help people," he said. "I've needed help, so I know what it is like to be in need."

William is especially excited to share his winnings with his mother and best friend. "This is it," he said. "This is my chance in life."

The winning ticket was purchased at Fruitland Exxon, located at 100 W. Cedar Lane in Fruitland.

Seems like a very nice man. I just hope he realizes $50,000 can go very quickly if he intends to help other people.

I missed this one. Congratulations Mr. Morris.

How unselfish of you to want to help others while you suffer with all of your struggles.

I hope your relatives and friends realizes this and give you a congratulations and tell you to spend it on yourself.

$50,000.00 is a nice chunk, but it can go fast, especially if you buy that HotRod.

God Bless you!
