NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Rebecca Hargrove, president and CEO of the Tennessee Education Lottery, earlier this month was named Chair of the Powerball Group of the Multi-State Lottery Association.

In the position announced July 10, Hargrove will oversee the management and marketing of the brand, its budget, its rules and new membership.

A 24-year lottery industry veteran, Hargrove has served as the chief executive of four U.S. lotteries and was hired in 2003 to launch Tennessee's lottery.

The Multi-State Lottery Association is a nonprofit association entirely owned and operated by 32 member lotteries.

Thanks to chasingadream for the tip.

Computerize PB .....or grind up matrices to 105 white balls, 85 red ones .... so she can have the jackpots competing with El Gordo.  Clown

WOW.  The pick 3 mafia was really quck to grab this one.  Anyway...  I highly doubt powerball will go RNG.  Surely "Becca" has learned by her mistakes  If not, there are a lot of states that would run to Mega Millions.  I'm sure there are checks and balances.  A lot of people are aware of the mistakes that has happened in the TN Lottery and I'm sure it all will be taken into consideration accordingly.

Don't be so sure.  The folks at MUSL have talked about doing it before, and Hot Lotto is surely a test case.  It would be a simple matter to convert Powerball to computerized drawings, and they have been laying the groundwork for a long time.

People said "no way Tennessee would go computerized", and it happened in a flash.

The states would NOT jump ship to Mega Millions over computerized drawings.  No way in 100 years.  The people in government could care less if the games are computerized or not.  The only ones who care are US -- the players.

Not so sure, Todd.  Say if PB did go RNG...  And players responded in a negative fashion sales would drop... So on and so forth...  I think in that case some states with "balls" would look into other options.  This whole thing seems funny to me.  In the 1990's when "Becca" was running GA she switched from PB to The Big Game which of course is now MM.  I'm pretty sure that left a bad taste in PB's mouth...  Now she is the Chair?  Not quiet sure what to think about all of that.  But we'll see.  Only time will tell and I'm a bit of an optimist.

Can anyone tell me what exactly being the "Chair" involves?  Is that like being CEO, or more like being in like a Board with ONE vote?  Anyway, are these people seriously TRYING to p-ss us off?? LOL.  THEY BETTER NOT!  THEY BETTER NOT EVEN THINKK ABOUT IT.   Seriously people who are in the industry would have you believe they know better about the lotto players wants and wishes, then I suddenly realized since they can't play they don't understand the mechanics of it all.  I just, man, I'm already angry bc I went to play Powerball today and forgot my money and couldn't buy my ticket, [ first time this happens, i didn't like it at all ] , and now to come on here and hear this scummy news.   Well I just hope they are ready for the fray that will ensue if they EVEN plan on anything to do this, because I will not again spend one dime on these games if they do.   Mad                                         Rockheads if they do this>Bash < Me, if they do this.  lol. Yes Nod   -   Then again they already chose her as Chair whatever that means, lol, I always wonder why the some people get elected where they do, either this country loves it stupids or just loves to give them hundreds of chances.   WHAT-EVEEEEER.
