Schedule will change days of week starting next Monday

The Minnesota State Lottery announced they will begin holding a third weekly drawing for their Gopher 5 game.

Starting Oct. 6, drawings will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Previously, drawings have been held on Tuesdays and Fridays, which is as it's been since the game was inaugurated in 1991.

Last week, local media sources reported that the Minnesota State Lottery announced an increase in ticket sales compared to last year.

Although some suggest recent economic woes had people looking for a way to get rich quick, lottery sales have been increasing year-to-year nationwide, so the increase in sales continues a long-running trend.
