The Connecticut Lottery Corp. says it set a record during the last fiscal year with $998.5 million in sales.

The state received $283 million of that for its General fund, about $4.5 million more than expected.

The Lottery says sales were up by 4.3 percent or $41.5 million over the 2007 fiscal year, and contributions to the state rose by 1.4 percent, or $4 million.

Scratch ticket sales showed the largest gain, up $24 million from fiscal 2007.

Thanks for the info todd!..Thumbs Up

Not entirely shocked about the scratch off thing ..I know around where I am folks love the 5 -10 and 20 dollar tickets in droves.I couldn't fathom what play3/4 sales would be.But they'd have to be way up too.Just in the store I go to in the morning alone, there's a head count of 4 regulars who dump no less than 30 bucks on play3#'s alone a day.Overall given the econimic conditions nationally, connecticut is doing respectable so they say on the news
