George Cordero pleaded guilty in Hampshire Superior Court this week to breaking and entering into a building at night with the intent to commit a felony, larceny from a building, larceny over $250 and other charges in connection with thefts from three stores between September and May.
Cordero also stole cigarettes and caused property damage in 1 of the incidents.
He was charged as a habitual criminal.
The 45-year-old Cordero will be eligible for parole after ten years.

Lotto dream has turned into a nightmare for this man.
The woman in the other story gets only 30 days.
20 years is kinda harsh.
I agree. I have seen murderers get off with less. Honestly. Poor guy.
It might be the "habitual" part of his description that got him.
Seems this wasn't his first offense......
oh, well, that makes all the difference.
Hi,
20 years in prison for stealing some lottery cash, do you guy think the penalty is too strict with him ? I think it is!
Someone drinks alcohol get just couple months in the jail, since it possibly can drive to killing and burning people!
the person who steals should be punnished but 20 yr. for lottery tickets is abuse of the system;
20yr, is 15 yr. too much 1 year would hve been about right for a habitual criminal. I hate our justice systerm over kill way too often;
I recall a story where a lady stole 2 million from her company to play scratches. I wonder how much jail time she got. Does anyone know? I'm too lazy to do a search.
I wonder if any of the tickets were winners?
