Sales of Kentucky Lottery Corp.'s new game called "Million Dollar Draw," for which only 500,000 tickers will be sold at $10 each, went on sale yesterday.

Once all of the tickets, which each contain a unique six-digit number, have been sold, the Kentucky Lottery will publicly announce the date and time of the drawing, according to lottery officials.

Players may not choose their own numbers.

A random number generator will select 734 winning numbers.  Computerized drawings have been the subject of intense criticism from lottery players worldwide, but mainly when they are used to draw traditional lotto-style games as part of a regular drawing schedule.  Using computerized drawings for special one-time games does not draw the same level of scrutiny from players, due to lower risk of systematic hacking.

The first two numbers drawn will win the top prize of $1 million; the next two numbers drawn will win $50,000; the next 30 numbers drawn will win $10,000; and the next 700 numbers drawn will win $500.

Odds of winning a $1 million prize are 1 in 250,000.  Odds for the other prizes are 1 in 250,000 for a $50,000 prize; 1 in 16,667 for a $10,000 prize; and 1 in 714 for a $500 prize.

The full list of drawing results will be posted on Lottery Post's Kentucky Lottery Results page soon after the drawing takes place.

That's if the KY raffle million-dollar prizes are cash. Michigan's raffle had annuity prizes.

Cash Only...in checking out the KY lottery web site there is NO mention of an annuity for the top prizes.

Well I won't kick an annuity of of bed if I win tomorrow night. I'd just sell her on the street corner, and pay the AMT instead of waiting 20 years to collect.

No Pity!

KLC spokesperson Chip Polston said today in an interview on WHAS Radio 84 that the $1,000,000 prizes are cash prizes.

went and got 9 more tickets today

cashier said about 90 thousand tickets left

That Cashier was wrong.  As of this morning, 145,742 have been sold, a far cry from the statement that only 90K tickets are left.  They will only sell 500K of them.

Hey Cableman-

Your cashier unfortunately gave you incorrect information. As of this morning (Monday), we'd sold a little more than 145,000 tickets. There are still about 355,000 tickets remaining. I'm not sure where the confusion came from, but wanted to make sure you had good info. As for any of you on this thread, let me know if you have any other questions.  Good luck!
