The winners of a $200,000 Powerball prize from the August 2nd drawing redeemed their winning ticket at Vermont Lottery Headquarters Monday.

The ecstatic winners, The couple had no idea the ticket was a big winner until they had it checked; they have been in a state of disbelief ever since. Visibly delighted, and not appearing the least bit exhausted, Ron reported that he hadn't slept since Thursday.

Upon discovering their win, the ebullient couple visited each of their children and gave them $1,000 toward their family vacation. Grandparents to seven granddaughters, the couple plans to invest and take "good care" of their grandchildren. They also plan to fix up their duplex and take their co-workers out to celebrate.

Ron has worked for the South Burlington School district for over 30 years and Sheila works at Henry's Diner in Burlington. Their friends and co-workers are overjoyed for their win and say that it couldn't have happened to a nicer couple.

Ron and Sheila are regular Powerball and Megabucks players. They always play the same numbers, a combination of numbers that don't have any particular meaning other than the number 13, Ron's lucky number.

The winning ticket was sold at Hannaford's Food and Drug on Marshall Avenue in Williston. The store will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Powerball draws are held each Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 PM (ET). The overall odds of winning a prize are approximately 1 in 36.6. The odds of winning the $200,000 prize are approximately 1 in 3.6 million. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are approximately 1 in 146.1 million. A televised broadcast of the Powerball drawing can be seen each Wednesday and Saturday evening on WCAX-TV, Channel 3 at 11 PM (ET).

Powerball lottery results are posted at USA Mega (www.usamega.com) minutes after the drawing takes place, and the number of winners and the new jackpot amount is shown about an hour later at USA Mega.

Ron and Sheila Kingsbury discovered they won a $200,000 Powerball lottery prize on Wednesday, August 9 after returning from a vacation at Lake George, New York.
