Florida Lottery

One ticket matched all six Florida Lotto numbers drawn Saturday night to win the $21 million jackpot, lottery officials said Sunday.

Saturday's numbers were 11, 17, 20, 27, 35 and 38. The winning ticket was a Quick Pick sold in the Orlando suburb of Lake Mary, the Florida Lottery said.

The smaller Lotto prizes:

  • 153 tickets matched five numbers to win $4,095.50 apiece.
  • 7,816 tickets matched four numbers for $65.
  • 156,466 tickets matched three numbers for $4.50.

The big winner has the options of taking the entire jackpot in 30 equal annual payments or as an immediate lump sum of about $11 million.

Fantasy 5

Meanwhile, a Fantasy 5 ticket sold in Broward was one of four to hit all five numbers in that game Saturday night, and is worth $72,034.46, the Lottery said.

Saturday's Fantasy 5 numbers were 10, 13, 15, 30 and 35. The Broward winner was sold at the Winn-Dixie supermarket at 701 NW 99th Ave., Pembroke Pines. The other winners were sold in unincorporated North Miami-Dade County, in North Miami Beach and in Ocoee, near Gainesville.

Congrats to the FL jp winner.

At the near end of this run, owing to betslips, I could try it relatively cheaply, getting 3/6. Certainly, I am going to try again later.

5/6 (or for that matter 4/6 and 3/6) never pay as good in NY Lotto 6/59.

It varies depending on the amount of winners. Last week 5/6 paid over $7,000.  I wouldn't mind getting 5 out of 6! I've been playing this game for 12 years and never got more than 4 numbers. I get 3 numbers a lot which pays an average of $4.50.  I think 4/6 should pay more..at least $100!  I know I shouldn't "chase" a number, but I'm afraid to switch after all this time, so I'll play my own and sometimes add a couple of QPs. We get some pretty good size jackpots here. In Jan one person won over $50M which paid $30M cash.  Florida lump sum payout is always more than 50% unlike PB. That's why I wonder if this statement is accurate.

"The big winner has the options of taking the entire jackpot in 30 equal annual payments or as an immediate lump sum of about $11 million."

I've never seem the Florida Lottery announce the lump sum value before the ticket is claimed and it's usually around 57 to 60% of the announced jackpot. The Megamoney game is around 70% of the jackpot. I've been tracking this for years. Regarding the Fantasy 5 game, I can't believe another unclaimed ticket expired Saturday, this time for $184,000. Makes me nauseous!

The Fla website has a nice feature which allows the player to enter his number before betting to see if any of the numbers have been drawn in the past.  This is available for Lotto, Megamoney and Fantasy 5.  Although it's possible for the same set of 6 numbers to be picked, it's very unlikely. I once wrote to them and was told that since its inception, the same 6 numbers have never been drawn twice for Lotto. That was a few years ago, before they changed from 49 to 53 numbers. I think it's still true however. You can also download all the numbers, but I like this new feature better (as long as it's accurate!)

I've seen 4/6 pay THIRTEEN dollars (yup, $13) in NY Lotto since the game went to FIFTY-NINE numbers (that's right, 59) in 2001.

Sorry,  CASHONLY. I was editing my comment when you were responding.

Yuck! $13?? That's really terrible. What's the point?  I've gotten 4/6 three times in 12 years and received approx $45, $82, & $75.

Yes, my friends, that's how cheap NY Rotto 6/59 can be!

"The Florida Lottery announced today FLORIDA LOTTO™ winner Edward T. Walters, 71, of Longwood, claimed the March 4, estimated $21 million FLORIDA LOTTO jackpot. Walters chose the one-time lump sum payment option for his winnings in the amount of $11,913,878.62. He purchased his winning FLORIDA LOTTO ticket at Albertson's, 870 Village Oak Lane, Lake Mary in Seminole County."

He only plays when the lottery goes over $10M and won with a QP....and I'm afraid to miss one drawing! So ya never know when it's your turn.

I have to agree with you on NY Lotto.  Not a good game.  Even if they give two rows for a dollar, not a good game.

We have to get EVERYBODY to stop playing NY Rotto 6/59. That's the only way we can get the state to offer a higher payout %.
