Mega Millions

Mega Millions sales have once again outpaced the forecast of Mega Millions officials, prompting them to increase tonight's lottery jackpot from $256 million to $267 million.

The new cash option is $159 million.

The drawing for the $269 million Mega Millions drawing is tonight at 11:00 PM Eastern Standard time.

5 white numbered balls will be drawn from a pool of 56, and one Mega Ball will be drawn from a separate pool of 46 gold numbered balls.

Players can win the jackpot by matching all 5 white numbers, plus the gold Mega Ball.  In addition, eight other prizes can be won by matching other combinations of numbers.

The numbers can be matched in any order, except for the Mega Ball, which can only be matched in that position on the player's ticket.

USA Mega (www.usamega.com) will carry the drawing results minutes after the drawing takes place, and within a few hours USA Mega will announce if the jackpot was won.

If there is no jackpot winner tonight, Friday's jackpot is expected to exceed $300 million.

A win tonight would make my banker very happy.  The zero's would be on the right instead of on the left!

If it doesnt hit tonight, then a road trip is in order. If I keep this up, I may be able to claim residency in this next state over! Good luck to the ticket holders!

Three more rolls? Damn, and I thought I was gree.., er, I mean, dreaming big.

With the adjustment the last rollover was 55 million. Even if it only went up by 60 million the cash option would have been nearly 195 million, which would set a new US record by a margin big enough that PB wouldn't beat  it until hitting 415. I'd think it would have gone up by more than 60, but when it hit 315 last November the final rollover was only 53, from 262 to 315. Still, two more rolls after that would probably push it past 500, a cash option of 300+, and a world record for a pre-tax cash prize.

I guess now we'll have to wait until at least late April to set a new record.

Why did the MM drawing estimated at 267 million actually went up to 269 million based on news?

Based on news, it dropped to $12M.  Which is highly spendable!

Last day sales probably pushed the jackpot by another 2m before the drawing.

Doesn't matter any more; they'll get whatever the total is.  Game over, new game starts Friday night.  The only thing that matters is the winners decision.  They can take it as a lump sum or take the annuity option.  ONLY their opinion counts.  Comes with being the winner.  Option is not available to the loser(s)!
