Mega Millions

The jackpot in the multi-state Mega Millions lottery grew to $72 million Wednesday.

None of the tickets sold for Tuesday's $61 million drawing matched all five lotto numbers and the Mega Ball. The next drawing will be Friday.

There were nine second-prize winners from Tuesday night's drawing: 1 from Georgia, 1 from Illinois, 1 from Maryland, 1 from Michigan, 1 from New Jersey, 3 from New York, and 1 from Texas.  Each ticket matched all five lotto numbers but not the Mega Ball number to win $250,000.

Also, 23 players matched four of the five lotto numbers, plus the Mega Ball number. Those tickets are each worth $10,000.

The winning numbers from Tuesday's drawing were: 9, 15, 20, 24, and 55. The Mega Ball number was 3.

$31 million before taxes ain't a bad little piece of change.

$33M in NJ is a cuppla milion better. I hate the lotto tax as much, if not more, than any one; however, it would sure be nice to be able to complain about having to pay multi-million dollars in taxes!

Yup.  Won't be long before what's left would buy you a gallon of gasoline.
