The Tennessee Lotto 5 jackpot climbed to an estimated $1 million after Wednesday night’s drawing.
“Excitement is building about the first in-state million-dollar jackpot,” said Rebecca Paul, CEO and President of the Tennessee Lottery.
“When jackpots reach record levels, we raise even more dollars for education.”
In addition to the $1 million jackpot estimated for Friday night’s Lotto 5 drawing, the Powerball jackpot continues to swell. Since there was no grand-prize winner in that game after last night’s drawing, the jackpot is estimated at $83 million for Saturday night’s drawing.
Although no player matched all five numbers correctly in Wednesday night’s Lotto 5 drawing, 108 players matched four numbers to win $189 each, while 3,084 players matched three numbers correctly and will collect $10 each.
In the Powerball drawing, also held on Wednesday night, there were 33,105 winners who purchased tickets in Tennessee.
Lotto 5 drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights at 10:34 p.m. CST (11:34 p.m. EST); Powerball drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9:59 p.m. CST (10:59 p.m. EST).
Wow now I see why so many folks say that TN should be part Lotto South. I have not seen a 1 million jackpot in a long time as the starting lottery jackpot.
I definitely want Tennessee to be part of Lotto South. It will save me trips across the border. Last draw on the [Lotto 5] I matched 4 of 5. Man!!! I was close. Payed out $189 though. Now a Million bucks at stake with 575,000:1 odds... it will probably be a very long time before we see a jackpot like this again. I just hope it isn't won by 2 or more people and I hope the 1 is me...
