A recent trip to the grocery store was a good reminder to check lottery tickets for one Cimarron, Kansas resident.

When he checked his tickets, he discovered he had a Super Kansas Cash ticket worth $258,207.  The man delivered the winning ticket to the Great Bend Lottery office on Monday afternoon and claimed the prize.

We went to the local IGA store here in Cimarron to buy some groceries, said the winner.  I saw that Lottery ticket in my wallet and decided we might as well check it.  We had a $258,207 jackpot ticket!

The 60-year-old Cimarron, Kansas resident, who asked that his name be withheld, matched all six numbers in the Nov. 24, 2004 Super Kansas Cash drawing.  His winning ticket was a $2 Quick Pick, which means the numbers were randomly selected by the computer when he purchased the ticket.

I bought the ticket in Ford, Kansas on our way to a Thanksgiving family gathering in Wichita, he explained.  I put the ticket in my wallet and just forgot about it until I checked it this week.

The lottery jackpot winner works for a local rancher in the Cimarron area.

He and his wife have three grown children.  They had no definite plans for their prize money.

We can pay a few bills and still save some of the money for retirement, he added.

The Super Kansas Cash ticket was purchased at Blue Hereford Stop, 807 Main in Ford, Kansas.  The retailer will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
