The Vermont Lottery announced Wednesday that Stephen Brochu, Louella Buckles, Rose Dutil, Norma Gregory, Mary Lou Jacobs and Manon Perrault came forward on November 23 to claim their $100,000 Powerball prize from the November 20 drawing.
The six winners are all employees from the Vermont Department of Employment and Training located in Newport. They are regular Powerball players who each put in $1 per drawing to purchase tickets for the group.
The player who purchases the tickets traditionally checks Saturday's winning numbers on Sunday at the Lottery website, but was unable to do so until Monday at work where they all discovered their luck.
Plans for the prize money include a new television, a family trip to South Carolina, $2,000 towards a daughter's school trip to Russia, and "just to have a nice Christmas."
Vermont Lottery games are sold at over 700 agent locations throughout Vermont.
All profits from the Vermont Lottery are used to support the Vermont Education Fund. Vermont Lottery officials encourage everyone to play responsibly.

I know that a lot of comments will probably be regarding how they are lottery employes and the posibility of them committing fraud. But my main comment is:
They bought 6 tickets and got all 5 of 5 ? So much for the idea that you have to spend hours researching the numbers again !

The story states that they are employees of the Vermont Department of Employment and Training. Not the Lottery.

Still amazed though that they got all 5 of 5 with 6 tickets.
Badger: Even more amazing is when someone wins a jackpot with a single Quick Pick. That is called FATE.
Corruption is unlikely here in any case, since the PowerBall drawing is conducted in Virginia.

I spoke with Iowa Lottery security this morning to verify Todd's vicious lies, and was told that PowerBall has always been conducted in Iowa, except during their remote drawing tours, when they travel to different states to promote the game. I explained the situation I've put myself in, and even stressed my embarrassment over it, but they politely refused to move the game to Virginia to vindicate me. Go figure.
Ordinarily, I'm more careful about checking my facts before I post.

Incidentally, another interesting feature about the Iowa Lottery is that they use Illinois' numbers for their daily Pick-3 and Pick-4 games. To my knowledge, they're the only state that does this, but I think it's a good idea; it eliminates a lot of suspicion on one side and a lot of temptation on the other.
They use a random number generator to draw their $100,000.00 Cash Game (they report no problems "so far"), but they have no plans at this time to use their RNG in any of their other on-line games.
